Second time here, just walked around the main town and had the famous aranchini... The Nutella one was amazing!

Despite some of the reviews on here Palermo is a great port. Within a ten minute walk from the ship you can be in great side streets with fabulous bars and restaurants. We had a fabulous meal at a very good price.

Carriage ride around town with Joseph our driver who seemed to know everyone. Enjoyed gelato & locally made wine.

There are many stands right at port exit selling tickets. No need to buy in advance. Can pay with credit card. There's a promotion for City Sightseeing Hop on Hop off bus (EUR15 only). City Sightseeing offers a free shuttle bus to stop no.1. City Sightseeing HOHO has lousy commentary. No extra info provided. Very old worn out seats. There's actually nothing much to see. You can just walk from port, straight up the road, Via Settimo (shopping street), Via Maqueda (pedestrian street), to the Cathedral and back.

The city was a very short walk away from the ship. We did a train that took us around the city. It was only 20 Euro for both of us.

Sicily was very dirty. Don't waist your time getting off the boat. Enjoy the day on the boat.

Four of us walked from the port to the Capuchin Crypt about three miles each way! Great way to see the city and we got to see dead people!! Haha the Crypt is actually very fascinating.

We had a very relaxing day in this port. Booked an excursion through Disney - Ricotta Making at Villa Daphne. It was a long bus ride through the town of Sicily, then to the vast countryside. We watched them make fresh ricotta cheese, my daughter participated in bread making, and then we enjoyed some time in the beautiful pool overlooking mountains. We had a wonderful Sicilian lunch, then went to a nearby farm for a milking demonstration. My kids loved this because they got to hold a baby goat! Fun day but a long bus ride both ways (almost 2 hours each way).

Palermo Street For tour - find it online though Viator was great. 15 minute walk form the pier to the Massimo Theater meeting place and then a delicious guided walk tasting food in the market and form street vendors in Palermo.
