I was shamed into going to Flanders Field in Ypres by friends. Our tour guide was outstanding who shared her knowledge of WW1. Poppy season was almost over, saw the occasional flower. Our visit to Flanders Field Memorial was unforgettable. I don’t think there was a dry eye when you saw the miles & miles of small white crosses set in a respectful setting with memorial statues. As we toured the countryside to Ypres we saw small white fenced enclosures with white crosses where solders had died & were laid to rest. Tour of Flanders Field was good. Listened to Sgt John MacCrae’s report of the war, it was wonderful to see his poem encased in stone along with his picture. Bought all sorts of poppy souvenirs. Saw lots of foreign school kids, some vacationing from Canada & US, others on school trips from France. Architecture typical European beautiful.

Quiet cargo port, buses to Bruges and Brussels are frequent. The actual port is quiet and not very exciting. Bruges is great, lots to see and do Would recommend it

What a beautiful city! Just walk around and really get a feel for it. Be sure to grab a drink or a meal in the Markt.

Absolutely beautiful . In the terminal buy a transfer to Brugge for 20 euros. They drop you off right where you want to be.

A beautiful blend of old and new with many chocolate shops and open air restaurants. There were horse drawn carriages and boat tours along the canals. We opted to walk and explore and were fortunate to stumble upon a brewery where we tried a flight of local beers.

Lovely, quaint town. Walking tour was fabulous. Can't really go off on your own as the port is more industrial and far away from the main town
