Marseille is a very despressed area. Not worth the time. I visited about 12 years ago and something has happened and not an attractive city once you leave the little tourist area.

Took the excursion to Aix-en-Provence, only about 30 minutes north of Marseille. Again, the lunch that was included was chaotic and unprepared and, sadly, had nothing to do with Provencal cuisine, but Aix itself is worth a visit even for just a few hours.

We walked around two cities. I wish they would informed us that in Cassis you could go to the beach. Not prepared with a bathing suit.
