Not a lot of time for a city with so much to offer. The Vasa Museum is neat but I would probably recommend doing it on your own. The ice bar is a tourist trap, waste of time since you are hearded like cattle through it for your ONE drink. The scenery while navigating the islands getting in to and out of port is breathtaking (4 hours)

Our ship was forced to dock way outside of town so we took the Hop-On Hop-Off bus and that was a disaster. The bus was too crowded, it was raining, windows leaked, etc. We were afraid to get off because the bus would get to places to get on/off and could not let any new poeple on because we were too crowded. We were afraid we might not make it back to the ship. If you get to dock in the city you can simply walk to Old Town and that would have been what we did. Beautiful city...but the crowded bus, rain, and short time the ship is there made it our least desirable stop.

We would have loved to have had longer here, again easily accessible without needing an excursion, but too much to see and do in one day. We will be back.

Get a balcony room just to enjoy the several hour cruise up and down the gorgeous fjord. Our huge ship was within a couple of hundred feet of beautiful islands and the people enjoying them.

Took city water boat from cruise dock to the Vasa Museum, which was very interesting and worth seeing. Then walked to Gamla Stan (old town), which is about a 20 minute walk along the water. Visited the Royal Palace, which was certainly not worth the time and expense, particularly if you have just visited St. Petersburg.
