Excursions to Catherine's Palace, The Hermitage, Faberge Museum, Panoramic St Petersburg and Cossack Folklore Show were all very good. Faberge museum was my favourite, no crowds and lots of time to enjoy the exibits.

Since we booked our excursions thru NCL, visas were no problem and we were able to disembark and re-board quickly and easily. We enjoyed a number of beautiful sites and had a couple of hours free time near the Nesky Prospect.

Went to the Hermitage on the first day and went on a boat trip around the river and canals on the 2nd day. It can be a little frustrating in Russia because you cant explore by yourself unless you have a visa. Also enjoy looking at the tallest building in Europe from the ship.

The main reason for picking this cruise was to see St Petersburg and we were not disappointed. What a stunning place! We did a 2 day deluxe highlights tour with SPB Tours and also an evening “out like a local” tour with the same company. Cannot praise this company highly enough. Everything about them was fantastic. Brilliant guides and driver and the whole booking process was extremely easy. They organise the visa you need to travel around St Petersburg and got us back to the ship in plenty of time for departure. The evening tour was an absolute highlight of the holiday. Very luckily for us the other 6 people who had booked it then cancelled so it turned into a private tour ending with the 2 of us, our guide Alex and a bottle of vodka on our own boat as night fell. Views were phenomenal. Use SPB is my advice!

Superb, the Best of St Petersburg excursion over 2 days is worth every penny - we were the first groups into the Hermitage and St Catherines Palace and the guide was extremely knowledgable and spoke excellent English.

St. Petersburg is a large city that is already crowded and having multiple cruise ships in port at the same time does not help. Most sites are jammed with tourists, with everyone taking photos. Extremely crowded. We used an outside tour (Shore Excursions Group) and were quite pleased. There are others too. Price per person was @ $300 for 2-days compared with $500 price for Princess excursion. Our guide (Lara) was excellent. The fact is that every group sees the same sites and use the same group of local tour guides so I would definitely recommend using an outside group.
