Flam is a cute and tiny little town that is home to an amazing railway experience that traverses up the mountain side with plenty of waterfalls and vistas that overlook clear streams/rivers, along with a stop to see a "huge" waterfall.

Buy railway tickets ahead of time on your own (visitflam.com). They will sell out as ship buys many tickets. We also booked a ferry ride through the Naeroyfjord that was spectacular.

Mix up in communication regarding unfortunate incident on previous excursion/tour bus. Was finally able to “trade” spots with a later couple’s tour (as well as switch to an earlier time for the Fambana train ride, purchased separately in port.) So we got to do our two events but in reverse order, and not without some consternation!!

The Norwegian harbors are OK for a short trip. The cruise is more important as the harbors.

Most beautiful Norwegian scenery imaginable! Took the train up the mountain. Not a lot to do in the port itself.

Cute town. Booked Flam Railroad on our own. Beautiful 2 hour train ride. Again, NCL excursion price was so high. We paid $50 each for train ride. I think NCL wanted over $200 per person. If you want to take the train ride book online in advance. We always purchase trip insurance so if NCL didn't go to that port, it would be covered by the insurance. Some people on our train booked their ride the day we arrived in Flam.
