Busy town with many shops and restaurants. Our excursion took us on a funicular ride for an amazing view of the city. Had some time to walk around the town and do some shopping. The store owners where friendly and some accepted US and Danish currency.

We purchased tickets online before we left for the Fløibanen funicular, approx £12 each ..... and went early thank goodness as the queues were long to buy tickets once there, but we walked straight on as we had tickets. The queues were horrendous when we came down for both buying tickets and to get on the funicular. Nice views from the top and places to walk. Some of our party walked back down into town. Wandered around the old town shops and fish market before reboarding ship.

Beautiful Bergen! Did the city walking tour and ice bar visit. Only complaint is that the walking part of the trip was off and it is a LONG fast walk....no stops along the way for historical trivia. 3km was 6km.

Nice town. More built up. Try the hop on hop off tour bus with the fenicular ticket included, you get in the fast track cue and the views are breathtaking.

We loved Bergen! So much history along the waterfront. We didn't do an excursion but ventured out by ourselves in the pouring rain! But we had boots, ponchos, and umbrellas! It was quite an adventure in the rain, but still a lot of fun. We learned from a shop owner that Bergen is the rainiest city in Norway, so for other cruisers, be prepared for the rain. It's a great port and all the shops are prepared with umbrella holders located by the door. And once back on the Koningsdam, we enjoyed hot pea soup in the Grand Dutch Cafe! Perfect choice on a rainy day! ☔️
