Easy walk into town. Lots of shops to see. We did the funicular - go early as it gets busy - great views and walks at the top. The ice bar was great fun; worth taking 15 mins to thaw out afterwards ;)

Great port to visit especially when good weather conditions. I recommend the funicular ride its pretty amazing views, once again as long as there is good weather. And also the local fish market down by the marina with all the yachts is a pretty cool place to have a look at and try the fish. Overall a great experience!

Second largest city in Norway. Very cosmopolitan but we visited on a Sunday so a lot was closed. Ascended Ulriken mountain (in a cable car) which has amazing views.

Not nearly enough time in this port. For those who missed the stave church near Flam, there is a reconstructed one here. Very interesting. Ship arrives at 7, but most attractions and museums open at 9 or 10,

Plenty of shopping but a must do is take the Funicular to the top of mount floyen for the great views and where there are some lovely trails by the side of lakes and streams.

You can do this on your own but it is a city that would take time to see. If we did it again we would spend a few days there.

Be sure to try shrimp from the fishmarket, cooked fresh on the way in from being caught. Especially good are the little orange eggs in between the legs. Peel and eat them like peanuts at the pier. Also the closest thing to street food in Norway, is a natural casing wiener with spicy mustard wrapped in a thin potato-pancake. These can be found at every little convenience store or kiosk.
