we got the hop-on - off bus (yellow), take care to change from Pireaus circuit to Athens circuit at Acropolis stop. staff helpful as to which bus to get on next, altho busy stop. good amphitheatre selfies. lovely light lunch near hadrian gate and temple of zeus at fresko yoghurt shop. allow enough time if rush hour for return trip - busy city

The Acropolis was the only thing I would suggest to see. Allthough my eyes were quite large the entire tour.

Very hot and crowded. Tour guide was not very useful--wanted to just drop us in the city when we knew nothing about the city--and we'd have to take a cab back.

The city was surprisingly run down but of course the Acropolis is a do not miss. It gave me chills.

After 5 days of ruins we were getting "ruin fatigue" Excurision was good; I think.
