We did the Acropolis where the Parthenon is located and it was awesome. Just know that it is in disrepair and constantly has scaffolding around it while they do the repairs. The other two temples that surrounded the Parthenon are in disrepair as well. However, it is definitely worth seeing and there are some beautiful views atop The Acropolis.

I actually missed this one because I felt very sick, but my husband ventured out and thoroughly enjoyed all the history this place had to offer. Took tons of pics so I could relive it through his eyes.

We had torrential rains and heavy winds but visiting the Acropolis was none the less thrilling. Allow time to explore. We were a bit rushed due to the rain but that didn't stop us from climbing to the top.

Acropolis though cool will be very crowded. Be prepared for extremely large crowds. Try to be first ones in. It will still be crowded but less crowded on the steep slippery stairs. Wear good rugged walking shoes and watch your step.

spent a day on foot pre-cruise and then 1/2 day with a cabbie-guided tour. Big, crazy and busy. The Acropolis was nuts with 500 people in line. Beautiful though. Athens could be one of the worlds great cities. kind of a shame that's no longer the case because the views are amazing. Still, an amazing experience just to see it up close.

Did the Ultimate Athens tour. Put on your walking shoes for this one. A long, hot, extremely crowded climb to the top of the acropolis but if you want to see the Parthenon and the temple of Athena it's the only way to get there.
