We shared a taxi ride into Florence with two other couples. It was about $45/person. We had three hours to explore Florence on our own and then we headed to Pisa for about an hour. A great way to get to see the area and a lot less expensive than what the cruise line was charging. Overall a great port to get out and explore the sights in Tuscany.

Once off the ship we met Marco & he took us sightseeing in his van. There were 5 of us & Marco was very informative & made sure to get us back to the ship on time. The highlight was seeing the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

This was one of the few cruise line organised tours we done. We went to Pisa in the morning which was stunning, we didn’t go up the tower, but we did go into a few of the buildings and shops around the area. After that we went to Florence which was spectacular! We wondered through the town stopping at the galleries and ponte vechio bridge. We also stopped & got a quick drink at the Hard Rock Cafe on the way back. The whole trip was good value as we get a deal where my daughters got to go for free. Now all we need to do is go back to Florence as there is so much more to see!

We did a $500 Cdn excursion on this day and well worth it. Florence was absolutely lovely and our guide 'Sammi' was amazing. It truly was a splendid tour. Only one thing to mention was the tour was noted as moderate but we had a few seniors on the tour that were struggling and we could not keep going without them for obvious reasons. The cobblestones and road conditions make it more difficult for people with mobility issues and this should be more clearly indicated in the write ups because the tours are only as quick as the slowest person. Everyone is required to stay together so you don't get lost. That being said we really enjoyed this day. It was probably our only really good day out of the 7 day cruise.
