Once off the ship we met Marco & he took us sightseeing in his van. There were 5 of us & Marco was very informative & made sure to get us back to the ship on time. The highlight was seeing the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

We shared a large taxi with 4 other guests (who we hadn't previously met) who took us to Florence and left us for 4 hours. Driver, who was very friendly and spoke excellent English then picked us up and took us to Pisa for an hour before returning us the ship. Good value at 50 Euros each. Could have taken 8 passengers at 320 euros. Taxi wasn't wheelchair accessible, but I was able to transfer in and out reasonably well, although it was a little high and wheelchair was put in back. We'd been recommended to look out for this taxi service who were prominently located just inside terminal building. Well worth visiting Florence and glad I went to Pisa, although nothing else there other than some leaning tower which you have to see.

We had a blast seeing the leaning tower and ate at some good places. It was funny, on one side of the tower it looked straight in one of our pics. So much fun.

We shared a taxi ride into Florence with two other couples. It was about $45/person. We had three hours to explore Florence on our own and then we headed to Pisa for about an hour. A great way to get to see the area and a lot less expensive than what the cruise line was charging. Overall a great port to get out and explore the sights in Tuscany.

Celebrity shuttle is $5 per person to Livorno. Go to a tobacco shop and buy your bus (to train station) and train (to Pisa) round trip. Cost for two people was 16 euro.

While sitting in the port on wifi catching up with family a small group were looking for extra people to make up the 8 needed to hire a taxi at a reasonable rate to go to Pisa and Florence. Joined them for 50 Euro each return. Florence has amazing statues - some were right up there with the ones we saw in Rome. Our driver showed us where to meet him and left us to do our own thing for 2.5 hours. Lots of lovely leather shops, the usual souvenir shops and more amazing statues. Met our driver as planned and off to Pisa where he left us for 1.5 hours to look around, grab some food. Pisa was OK, the churches were more interesting than the tower I thought, however there was a LONG line to get into the church. Not as busy as I expected, plus there was actually quite a bit of room to walk around.
