We stayed in port at Livorno and walked through the outdoor market place until it closed, far too early. We loved the port city of Livorno

We explored Florence without an excursion since some of us had been to Florence before and some had not. I love Florence - great food, great shopping, and great history/culture.

Read my post about Florence and Pizza it should be here. For Florence the sculptures are beautiful and there isn't much to see is Pizza other than the leaning tower and a couple of other religious building but This is why we went. The rain was a nussance but manageable. I bought a hat to keep my glasses dry.

Again, you have to take a tour, and all of them require a long drive. We did the ship tour of Cinque Terra, which was good, but too many people!!
