We visited the Cinque Terra (Five Lands) which includes Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. We had a blast visiting each village. I think our favorite was Riomaggiore where we had a fabulous lunch and Monterosso - best choice-hazelnut gelato - EVER!

We took a shore excursion to Cinque Terre which was amazing. I would have preferred two days in this port instead of the one wasted day in toulon.

Beautiful city! We had a very knowledgeable tour guide, but he didn’t leave enough time for us to explore on our own.

Hired a taxi at the port to take us to Florence - much more affordable than booking through the cruise line.

Did the San Gimignano and San Donato farm excursion through NCL. Loved it! It was a smaller tour only 12 of us were in the group- I suspect this is partially due to cost and I imagine many folks would have chosen to do the wine tour which included Pisa and similar price point. We chose this one specifically hoping it would be a bit smaller and less touristy. Beautiful drive through the country side up to the town of San Gimignano. We had about 2hrs to wander around this cute little town- which was perfect- grabbed a snack, enjoyed the scenery did some shopping. Then it was on to San Donato farm- we had a fabulous buffet lunch there. All the food is from the local area if not produced at San Donato, so tasty. Wine was quite enjoyable- I would have preferred a structured wine tasting (our group was reluctant to end lunch we were having such a good time eating, drinking and chatting- it's possible a formal tasting was scrapped due to time constraints)- we were able to try any of their wines if we wanted.

San Gimignano & Volterra - Wine Tasting!!! Our best excursion by far. We are looking at going here to spend some time in the future. When I think of Italy - this is the place. Amazing countryside filled with vineyards, olive trees and amazing views. The small towns with old world charm. Narrow Cobblestone streets that don't look like there going anywhere, but BAM the beauty hits you in the face.

We did the Cinque Terre on our own; air conditioned bus ride there and back, and visiting on our own. It was fantastic.

Went to Florence, it was 42c there, stunning place, but ridiculously warm, didn’t stop us from enjoying a gentle stroll through the city
