See the red beach. Take an ATV (at least 150cc) and ride down to the south part of the island and hike over to red beach. Also eat some grilled corn. Delicious! Oia seemed like a waste of time to me. Too touristy. Although I found a decent restaurant not right on the tourist road.

We didn't take an optional tour, so we can't speak of those. The town of Fira was definitely not worth the long wait for the cable car. 8 ships were in...bad planning!

The 8-mile cliff walk between the port and neighboring village takes about 2.5 hours, and then you can taxi or bus back.... very strenous, but spectacular! And you're unlikely to see any fellow passangers for the only time on a cruise!
