We took the walking tour and country wine tasting excursion and loved it. The young tour guide was a life long resident who lover her home. The village was easily toured and just beautiful. The insights from the guided tour was well worth the price. The bus trip to a working farm/vineyard was totally different but equally interesting. We think it was the best island of all visited.

Tender port, the tender was a quick ride, maybe 10 minutes to the centre of town. Well organized. A picturesque town, all whitewash and cafes. Beach excursion. Uncrowded bus took us about 20 minutes to a well serviced beach. Pebble beach,10euro for 2 padded lounges and umbrella. Greek beer( alpha) 4 euro a bottle. Got us back to port in plenty of time for a walkabout and time in a cafe.

Visit a local beach and do not leave your things unattended, but plan to return with enough time if using public transportation, when some cruises are at the same time, there is many people and not enough buses to guarantee your return to the ship area.

omg. favorite stop. ignore all excursions. simply go into town, rent a crappy looking scooter and take off. You can ride all around the island in an afternoon and still have time to get delicious gyros before heading back to the ship. Just be careful of the on-coming traffic :)
