Beautiful port and it was and felt completely safe. We took an excursion to Ephesus. Outside the exit there were a TON of merchants that were overly aggressive in getting you to purchase their goods - that is my only negative. I did, however, find lots of weird little trinkets to bring home from the vendors outside. I would love to go back, it is unfortunate that Royal has replaced this port with Malta.

Ephesus is a very popular site and is certainly worth doing if you haven’t been there. Since we’ve been there four times, we took the day off and went to the Starbuck’s on the pier and each spent several hours on the internet in a comfortable chair for the price of a cup of coffee.

We did the Ephesus and House of Mary tour. Do not miss this one ! Great tour of interesting sites. Not as crowded but some difficult walking terrain.
