This day was a BUST. It was the May 1 holiday and Olympia was closed. Olympia is the only reason to do this small port. A big disappointment for most of the guests. Someone from Holland America screwed up the scheduling on this one.

Port to Olympia. That's it. Nothing else to it. Had been to Olympia before which was a good excursion. Spend some time eating and did a bit of shopping in Katakolon.

You have got to go to Olympia to see the location of the olympics and see what they have uncovered. The museum will tie it all to gether

Port was really not much to see unless you did shore excursion. So if you have a stop here you must do an excursion because there is really nothing to see at the port

Beautiful place to see. Ship stay on the water and use taxi boat to bring people to the port but it take more time to get back on the ship. Lot of place to see as backcountry and the family farm who have nice winr.

Beautiful port! Katakolon is a small village with a nice row of shops. We did the Spirit of Olympia excursion, so we visited the sight of the first Olympics and I ran along the stadium!! We then visited the museum on the sight as well. After the excursion, my mum and I had lunch on the ship and then went around the shops.

Another highlight of our cruise. We had pre booked booked a minibus to take us there, and it was very worthwhile. We also went to visit a small honey farm nearby. A pleasant experience run by a delightful family.
