Quite far from the town so definitely need a bus to get there from the port. Use a local bus for just a few Euros rather than the ship organised one. Chania old town is lovely.

Shuttle bus drops you off in an area close to old town but no clear directions to get there bir with the adventure, harbour is lovely and I recommend the octopus!

We did not even go here, cruises.com site sold us an outdated itinerary. I spoke with customer service on the ship and was advised they have not done that itinerary for over 5 months, so the cruise was never schedule to visit Santorini or Crete. So instead of visiting 5 places, we ended up stock in the ship for 3 full days on the sea.
