We were with a group on our cruise so we kind of mostly had to do what they did which wasn't a problem! Went to a cool winery, wish I remembered the name of it, bought two bottles of wonderful wine that was right out of the cellar-no label! Also visited an olive oil factory that was really cool!

This was an ok port... But... You definitely have to take the city bus or taxi to get to either the main town or any beaches. And the town is very busy and dirty. Suggest you give yourself a lot of time to get back to the boat.... Because traffic is kindda rough here

We did a walking tour downtown on our own. It is very easy to take the shuttle bus from the ship’s dock for €1.5 each way. There were plenty of restaurants, bars and shops. It felt very friendly and safe.

Shuttle bus drops you off in an area close to old town but no clear directions to get there bir with the adventure, harbour is lovely and I recommend the octopus!

A local told us to take bus number 21 to the Golden Sands Beach which only took about 15 minutes. It was beautiful with lots of strong waves. At night we then went to old town chania to all the restaurants and shops.
