Good staff, and Food... Weak entertainment and itinerary planning.

Sail Date: August 09, 2015

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

The good: fantastic staff and service.... The food was tastier than most... Choice of ports is great... Rooms were huge compared to other cruises.
The bad: terrible itenary planning with Santorini... Entertainment was boring.... Needed more On board activities during sea days.
Food and Dining
Jasper and the wait staff throughout the boat were amazing! Only problem is sometimes when you get back from Port and are hungry... Only the snack bar is open!
Service and Staff
Staff and service are top notch... Anyone who complains about that is crazy!
Booring compared to what I've seen on other boats, including other Royal Caribbean Cruise.
Onboard Activities
There were activities... But, not nearly enough... With two seas days... Most people ended up just fighting each other for seats by the pool since there wasn't much else fun to do.
Destinations and Excursions
Great ports... But poor itinerary planning. only had 5 hrs in Santorini 3.5 of which was used just getting to and from the boat and the city.
Ship Quality
Ship was clearly an older one... And small... Very different from the Royal Caribbean pictures... But the boat was very clean and the rooms VERY roomy.
Embarkation and Disembarkation
Santorini was a nightmare... But all other ports were great.
Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy
Romes ok.. Suggest getting there early or staying an extra day after for a day trip to Venice!
Santorini, Greece
It takes at least 1 hour to get from the boat to the port... Up the cable car.... And to the main area of Santorini... And on the way back... The cable car lines are ridiculous! At least an hour to two to get back to the boat. So plan that into your schedule. Oh... But you HAVE to visit the black or red sand beaches... Just to say you were there!
Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey
Be prepared to shop here for great priced knockoffs!
Bodrum, Turkey
After Santorini... Definitely to most beautiful port of call. Also good shopping here! Beautiful beaches right near the port... Although... They are rocky beaches instead of sand... But the water is nice!
Chania, Crete
This was an ok port... But... You definitely have to take the city bus or taxi to get to either the main town or any beaches. And the town is very busy and dirty. Suggest you give yourself a lot of time to get back to the boat.... Because traffic is kindda rough here

On your sea days... Have someone get up early... Get a bunch of towels... And, try to reserve some chairs... While eating breakfast... 'cause after 9am... You will have to scramble all day for a chair... And there's really not much else to do on the boat.
