We did an excursion to The Knossis Palace. It was a long tour. The tour guides are interesting but they should not speak constantly. They need to give some information and then give you a chance to look out the window and absorb what they have said. This seems to be a common mistake these bus guides make, they want to tell you every statistic about a place no matter how relevant. It is very tiring.

I like this port very much. Very clean. Took an Azamara excursion to the Palace of Knossos and Archeological Museum of Heraklion. The excursion left on time, actually early. The tour guide was excellent.

Get a taxi from port to Elounda pretty harbour surrounded by restaurants and bars ,book a trip to Spinalonga on a local boat for a fraction of the normal tourist price .

Palace of Knossos was historical but mostly ruins. Visit to typical village was charming.
