This was awesome that we had 2 days in Havana. This gave us time to really explore and learn about the culture, see some wonderful sites, eat some unique foods, enjoy the city!!! Wish more sailings gave more time to key places like this!

5 stars IF all you want to do is visit Old Havana and say you've been there. There is no time on this cruise to allow for further excursions. Our group did the ship offered bus tour....you see what the government wants to let you see. We did enjoy it, but even more so walking about old Havana on our own and taking the pedicabs around town. We wanted to see Havana before it becomes modernized.....ain't happening in our life time!

Getting off the ship was very easy and organized. The excursion we did was called Cuba's Classic Cars, which was awesome. My only concern with it was we had to walk a bit to get into the cars and there were some elderly folks that seemed challenged by this. This should be disclosed when reviewing the breakdown on what to expect.

Booked daytime and night time excursions and they both went to the same places. Booked Hemingway's house tour for 2nd day and after the tour they took us back to the places we had seen twice the day before. One past or excursion was to see cigar factory but there was no factory only a cigar store that we spent over an hour in with 2 other tour groups trying to check out. Was told we had to book a tour in order to get off ship but that apparently is not true. We could have done our own sight-seeing or booked with a local guide. Made stops with group to bars where Mojitos and Daquiris were invented. at both stops we had to wait in cramped hot areas for complimentary drinks to be prepared. Seems like they should have had pre-prepared and given to us outside where there was more space and would take less time.

A refreshing change of pace and a wonderful culture for the well traveled traveler. If you have to be pampered stay at home. It is a socialist country. The things you take for granted (toilet paper, running water and electricity) they struggle to obtain. All things aside great people just trying to get by.

The port was excellent. We had problems with two tours. One ended an hour early and we were given a $35.20 refund, and the other, the guide could not project and speak to a group. she continually had her back to the group. We left the tour and went off on our own.
