It's a very impoverished country, where you'll pass many houses/shacks made of metal roofing/plywood. However, the people are SO friendly & welcoming! The beaches are clean & the water is wonderful. We did an excursion to Ffrye's Beach & LOVED it!! Though it rained 3 out of the 4 hours were were there, it didn't stop us from enjoying the warm, clear water. The included lunch was DELICIOUS, too!!

We went to jolly beach 12.00 a person round trip. The beach was gorgeous although it was raining who cared. Walked around the port also. Not to overcrowded on the beach.

We went with a private tour outside of the cruise line called ‘Barry’s Taxi’ which was a very nice tour. The island of Antigua was a very scenic place with nice beach views and historical areas. Barry was a great tour guide throughout the entire time with his facts about the island and these little trivia questions he would ask us about certain things. It was also a memorable tour for my family and I because our tour van actually broke down and he had to call his wife to come pick him up so he could go get another van. But all in all we loved Antigua and we loved our experience with ‘Barry’s Taxi’.

Went on the eco adventure which included kayaking, a hike to the top of bird mountain ( not strenuous, about 10 minutes) where you could see the islands and 2 huge blow holes and snorkeling- would recommend bringing you own mask.
