Today 7,000 passengers arrive to Old San Juan in two ships. Old San Juan is OPEN to the world and is getting back to normal. Please spread the word that Old San Juan is coming back strong!!!

Wow! San Juan was full of so much architecture and history. The cobblestone streets, colorful row houses, iron balconies, and historic forts were amazing to walk through. Even though there was a free trolley system around the city, everything in Old San Juan was within walking distance. The main jewelry stores had free Sangria and Mimosas right inside, Senor Frogs was handing out coupons for a free shot, and there were little shops everywhere for souvenirs. It was HOT, but I wish we had more time to explore the city. I would have loved to see the newer San Juan as well. Did I mention there were WILD IGUANAS everywhere?

Glad to see the people finally getting power back, still over 45% without power, SHAME on USA for taking so long getting them & St. Thomas up and running, people there told us they don't need SBA loans, they need materials & personel to help rebuild. These are still americans & need our support.

Old San Juan was quaint and charming! Had a Pina colada from Barrachina's...where they were originally made! Saw beautiful parrots!!! Must see the umbrellas hanging over Fotraleza Street...so colorful and festive!!! Loved our experience!!!

I absolutely loved Puerto Rico! We took a taxi to the old Spanish Forts but if I had done a little more map research we could’ve walked from the boat. Truly some of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen. We were even lucky enough to see a whale off shore!

This was my boyfriend's favorite port. We went to El Morro and got a lot of pictures of the town in old San Juan. We bought a drink in one of the shops and walked around drinking it until we had to board the ship. It was a relaxing day and the weather was beautiful.

Our favorite port! If you do not have an excursion, follow the wall to the very end and see the gate where travelers would crawl on their knees to the cathedral in Old San Juan and follow the blue cobble stone road to some amazing shops and restaurants. The visitor's center has all of the information you need to decide what to do- and there is plenty!

We chose to walk on our own to El Morro, going along the wall to the Red Gate. It is a long walk but it is very much worth it. The architecture and history are amazing. There are lots of "wild" cats that roam the island....so they are fun to see but not an issue. El Morro is a beautiful structure to see and the history that surrounds it great to learn if you like history. Be prepared to sweat while walking. Puerto Rico is extremely humid and the morning we were here it had rained just before our arrival. After El Morro we stopped at Barrachina Restaurant in Old San Juan, famous for inventing the Pina Colada. We had a Pina Colada each and shared a Pollo Mofongo. Service was great, our waiter Hector was more than willing to make sure our time there was memorable. The Pina Colada and Mofongo did not disappoint. We were directed to visit the street with all the umbrellas. A street that leads to the governor's mansion. It was very, very pretty. Approximately 25,000 people visit the street every week to have their photos taken there. It is worth the visit. We also visited the Cathedral of San Juan Bautista, John the Baptist. Here you find beautiful architecture of a 500+ year old building with lots of history. Ponce De Leon is buried here. Be prepared to have every employee from every store to try and get you to step into their stores and purchase something. We did stop in Del Sol, a store that sells only things that change colors in the sun. Very fun store. There is a Walgreen's just outside the port so if you need to pick something up you can do so on your way back to the boat. Also on your way back, there is a small area, on the water, just before you have to go back onto the pier to go to the boat, that you can stop and get a photo of the boat behind you (just use your phone). At night, it is breathtaking with the boat all lit up and reflecting on the water. San Juan is a beautiful place to visit.
