A lot of beautiful and interesting things to see in Puerto Plata. We did a city tour that included a run factory, cigar factory (which was more interesting than I expected), the fort, Pink Street, Umbrella Street, and Independence park.

This was our first visit to Puerto Plata, DR. We were very pleasantly surprised by this port. It is a fantastic port. We got off the ship and spent the day at the little beach/shopping/bar/resturant area that is in the port. This is a great area to spend a day relaxing at the pool or in a hammock or floating along the lazy river. Outstanding port.

Our first time here and spent the day by ourselves on the beach at the port. And when I say by ourselves, it was seriously just my husband and I. Our waiter, Junior, was wonderful and took very good care of us. Beautiful, clean, and everyone was super friendly!

We did not book an excursion here. We got off the ship and bought a few things in the shops at the end of the pier. The town looked nice, but we felt safer staying near the ship. We also did not have anything that we were looking to buy, so we used the time to enjoy extra time in the uncrowded Thermal Spa.

We didn’t go anywhere here, but the port is very nice and clean. Not real expensive but almost to be expected. They had several macaws you could see and probably take pics with but we didn’t. We purchased a few things then got back on the ship.

Felt super sketch leaving the city but once we reached our destination it was pure paradise. The little huts around the boat with little shops were really really cool too.
