Review summary

We are not your normal cruisers and we know that. This cruise was a great cruise and the ship has some really neat features. Not our favorite cruise line, but wouldn't rule it out in the future. We are not people with sophisticated palettes, so a lot of the food in MDR and BLU did not appeal to us. Which is fine! Capacity was what we would prefer all the time at about 50%. Missed Puerto Rico, but that's ok. We are flexible and enjoyed being on the ship.

Embarkation

So fast!! From time of arrival to embarkation was about 10 minutes!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We are exceptions to the normal cruising community. We eat at the buffet, do not go to shows, or eat in MDR majority of the time. Buffet was OK. Desserts always leave something to be desired. Chocolate desserts and any meat were wonderful. Bar in buffet was WAY heavy handed with the alcohol. Almost unable to drink my tan painkiller!!

Onboard Activities

Fortune's Casino

Quiet and calm on sea day! Won over $200!

Pool

Packed on sea days. Very very small. Beautiful tho and layout was very nice with daybeds hammock beds and loungers.

Bocce / Lawn Bowling

Cool feature! Different than any other ship we've been on.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room Steward Riomel was accommodating and friendly. Sometimes he seemed apprehensive of my husband and I. Egbert in the buffet was super friendly and took care of us. The rest of the staff did not seem happy at all. One girl at the ice cream was always scowling and I was always trying to make her smile.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Design and layout are very neat and different. Saw 2 crew cleaning the entire cruise. This was disappointing. Definitely well maintained!

Cabin / Stateroom

We were upgraded to Aquaclass balcony. Room was bigger than some and easy to move around. Plenty of storage. Clean and beautifully decorated. Great location also!

Ship tip

This was a great cruise and is a beautiful ship. Staff was pleasant enough, not really talkative. Ship was well maintained and only had an issue with a pin hole below the shower head that sprayed right in our faces. Lol! But was fixed at some point. Ship seemed small and intimate, which we love. It was so nice to be back on the water!

Ports of call

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
Our first time here and spent the day by ourselves on the beach at the port. And when I say by ourselves, it was seriously just my husband and I. Our waiter, Junior, was wonderful and took very good care of us. Beautiful, clean, and everyone was super friendly!

Nassau, Bahamas

First time NOT at a privately owned island in the Bahamas. So beautiful. Our excursion to Pearl Island was smooth, quiet, and gorgeous!

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
One of our favorite islands. Took a cab to Magen's Bay. It was busy but not crowded! Cloudy that day but it was just nice to have toes in the sand!

Disembarkation

Did self embarkation and was super fast and we were in our car by 8am!
