I heard there are some great excursions here. I also was hearing this part of DR is know as "the hood" so that would explain why folks are saying some of area is dirty and plus a lot of folks didn't get off the ship either. **You must book an Excursion to enjoy yourself here** Not much at the port at all.

We did the Villa Hermosa excursion. Fantastic photo ops around the historic architecture.

Our guide, Clemente, made this excursion exceptional!! We did the tour and then the river cruise. I highly recommend it.

Stay on the ship. Dirty country, very poor and locals were very aggressive. very expensive to take a Taxi to a dirty beach. Barley anyone could speak English and could not understand us. Will not go back here.

We tried to do an excursion ( off ship)and were given a price, paid and loaded in the van. We could not all fit ( 21 people) and then insisted we sit on laps and then tried to double the price. Words were exchanged and we were threatened. We got out and hung out at the port having $5 mojitos and had fun there instead. Complete downpour of rain all day anyway.

we didn't get to do anything but stay in the quarantine area unless you have an excursion its about $25/Person for a taxi! so its cool we went shopping there although they were a bit high but hey i wanted my key chains haha!
