A: We booked Altos De Chavon thru Carnival, highly recommend. Google it, it is beautiful!

A: we took a tour with P&O here and visited a few sites all was well.This year stayed in port at the resort they have built and had great fun and a beautiful pool.

A: It’s a working port. Get out of the port. There’s a lot of beautiful scenery around there.

A: There is a pool at this Port, shopping, food and drinks. Hang by the pool. The day we were in port it was so hot that I went back to the shop after a quick port tour on my own.

A: We stayed just off the ship in the purpose built resort due to security issues at this location, please be careful if you are exploring La Romana as the crime rate is questionable do some research.

Q: We will be visiting this port and taking an excursion. Will we be safe? I’m reading that the US issued a yellow flag for Dominican Republic and as much as we’d love to explore this beautiful island, I need to know that we will be safe.

A: we were there in Dec and we did a tour with the local tour companies and honestly we didn't feel safe, he was friendly but as he was giving us a tour it felt as if he was only taking us to people who knew who were hounding us I mean hounding, at one... place I bought something out of fear, after 45 min we told him to take us back, it did not feel rightSee More

A: I was just on liberty of the seas and the 2 Dominican ports are ABSOLUTELY beautiful....and never once felt unsafe...I had friends do excursions in those ports and they had an amazing time if you feel insecure at all just book your excursions though... the ship...safe travels and calm seasSee More

A: we went back again 2 weeks ago but did not go past the port, they had a really nice shopping area and pool and restaurants there that was enjoyable.

A: So long as you are on a reputable excursion, you will be safe. Venturing out on your own is dangerous.

A: We were there in March of this year and stayed on the port area. It was nice to us. Had pool, shopping area and a small sandy area with loungers. Enjoyed it.

Q: Does anyone know when the port construction will be completed? We were there this paat Halloween and they were very busy with the new area.
