Beautiful beach right off of the ship - NO need to book an excursion to another beach. Margaritaville is right there & some small shops with really nice island goods. The female DJ at that beach, however, is pretty obnoxious while you are sun bathing.

The port at Grand Turk was unique in that Carnival basically owns the port. The beach is literally at the end of the warf the ship docks at, you walk to the beach! Walking to the left there are lounges and umbrellas available to rent 15 feet from the water for $25 for 2 lounges for the day. I heard a rumor, but was unable to confirm, Carnival has free lounges/umbrellas to the right. They also built a restaurant/bar/pool complex called Margaritaville 50 yards or so down on the beach that I wasn't even aware of (little noise on the side facing the beach) until I got hungry and followed my nose. I was surprised how big a facility it was and how crowded and noisy! The back side is the restaurant centered around a large pool area with lounges and umbrellas (which may all be free). They were in the middle of a dance off with loud booming music and general 'what the hell' party atmosphere! Food was OK and not terribly overpriced although the ship was right there if you really wanted a free lunch!

High light of the cruise. Exclusive Excursions put on an amazing tour to Gibs Cay. Just two families, as opposed to the hoards of people on the cruise sponsored excursion.

Absolutely loved this port! Did not do an excursion. Me and my husband took snorkle masks and swam out from the beach. We saw lots of small fish and a few big ones. Loved that the ship was close enough to go back on for lunch. Nice relaxing area. It was very crowded with 2 ships there and was difficult to find a free seat.
