I was happy with this cruise bet would have second thoughts returning unless the ship was cleaned up. I'm not a fan of walking through a smoky casino to get from one end of ship to the other. Beds were lumpy & need new mattress. This should be #1 for any cruise. No hand soap in bathroom...lucky I packed one. All it takes is some paint and basic maintenance and clean pool decks and my rating would be much better.
$980 for 2 drink packages was highway robbery.
I did like the chat feature on the Carnival App.
I also really liked the import & craft beer selection. The one reason I stopped sailing RCL.

Main Dining Room was entertaining and waiters were very good. Food was average and less appealing than in past. I think they want you to go to specialty restaurants.

Buffett was ok. Design caused many lines. Dessert bar was exceptional. Best cakes ever on a cruise. The burger bar and taco bar were very good.

Pools overcrowded and slimy. It got so bad I did not want to get in. Filter system must not be working.

I thought the entertainment was good. I felt they should use the pool video screen for more videos, comedy or concerts.

Service was exceptional. My cabin steward Erika was the best ever and I've been on 25+ cruises. The waiter Daniel at back pool was very good and attentive. We really enjoyed our waiter in the dining room. We only had him twice but he really stood out.
Ship Quality

My room was clean. The pool areas were dirty even at 7 am in the morning before crowds arrived. Dining room was clean. The ship is showing signs of wear & tear. A lot of rust showing. Definitely needs paint.

Erika was wonderful, kept us comfortable and happy! My wife loved the towel annimals.
Ship tip
The pools are very crowded. If you want a lounge chair you need to get up early.
My wife and I now have 60 cruises with Carnival since 1976 . To many to list . And over 460 sea days . But conquest is still one of the best . And have had Ericka as a Stewart at least 6 times on Deck 6 and he is the best !! Did four cruises with him last year and have 2 booked with him this year .
What do you mean the ship needs to be cleaned? A smokey casino has nothing to do with that. Almost ALL casinos are Smokey and you usually have to walk through it to get somewhere on most ships. As for the rest, we were on the Conquest a week before you,and loved the ship. Yes it is older and needs updating but it is a beautiful ship. We didn’t get hand soap after the first day, but that in no way recked our vacation. You complain about the drink package, you didn’t have to buy it. Maybe cruising isn’t for you. We love it!
