If you don’t do an excursion or take a taxi to the beaches there was not much to do/see at this port of call. The locals are very friendly and there were shopping options.

Went to Christiansted Resort and laid out on the beach. Incredible blue water. Also did some shopping in Christiansted and learned the history of the island. Very interesting.

We enjoyed our excursion here but the island did not appeal to us in the long run; meaning we did not experience an urge to return.

No formal excursion. Walked to a nearby beach for free!

Need to have more then just beach tours. Not a whole lot we found to do if you don't love to be in the sun the whole day.

Unfortunately, the whole town needs a coat of paint (and it's only a 1-street town, shouldn't be that difficult). Also, not enough bars or restaurants to pop into. We walked to Rainbow Beach (about 2 kms away, good walk), there's a nice bar, but we gave up on ordering food, they took too long and they seemed stressed also. Seems like there should be more bars/restaurants along the beach, that said, it may be due to Hurricane damage, it's hard to tell at the moment. Beautiful beaches though, great to get off the boat and enjoy them.

Only went to the beach, it's rocky so bring water shoes. Next time I'd like to take an excursion.

It felt like the taxi drivers didn't know what was going on - took us half an hour to get a cab to a beach. Asked one driver to take us to a resort I had read reviews on and he said sure then we lost him...found another one at the ticket booth and she said the resort is closed. Not sure who to believe but we ended up going to a beach near the port for $6/pp round trip. It was very rocky at the beach and getting in was a bit painful because the waves would throw rocks at your feet, also, giant boulders under the water which you could not see and I ended up with several small cuts on my ankles and a bruised big toe. Two muskoka chairs and an umbrella are $20. I would book an excursion if I were to come to this island again or insist on getting taken to where I want to go if I know the resorts are good.
