Very pushy people wanting to sell you stuff or take you on a tour or something else. Going to Margaritaville costs $10 per person if you want to access the beach. $15 if you want a beach chair.

Wow this place was sketchy. Do an excursion through the boat or stay VERY close to the boat. There's a little beach and some shopping right there. We were going to walk to turtle river park and it was kind of scary. Didn't end up going. It's kind of a shame. The scenery looks gorgeous.

I'm giving the port a two because we were bombarded with requests to purchase excursions and other things constantly. We chose to explore the port rather than book an excursion and that was a mistake. We should have gone to a private beach or gone on an adventure. The further you walk on the streets, the more shady it is. Don't walk alone...be with someone else. We made our way to the beach access at the port, but even in the water, we were approached by locals and not for friendly conversation. It WAS pretty though. Book an excursion if you're going. We learned that's what everyone usually does after the fact.

This was by far our favorite port that we stopped in. We did an other Carnival excursion, this one was "Giving Back With a Purpose". We made a few stops on this one also. My favorite stop was the Pineapple Basic School. This school was in a very impoverished section of town. We had the opportunity to speak with the children, the teachers and the principal. I only wished we had know we could take things to the school prior to going (I had room where I could have packed a few items for the school).
