Montego Bay was our least favorite stop on this cruise. We got a taxi driver to take us around for a "tour" but his agenda was to take us to all the places that paid him to bring tourists in. We found this particularly bothersome as our time was pretty limited here. We did have a great lunch at a place called The Pork Pit. That was the highlight of our time here unfortunately. Do some research before you go and try to find a reputable driver if not doing a planned excursion. The island seemed amazing, we would just like to experience it without being prodded into certain stores or have an agenda forced on us. This was a last minute addition because our itinerary was changed due to hurricane Maria so we did not get to do much planning. We'll go back next time with a plan!

Everyone in Jamaica "love" tourists. They tell you it over and over how much they "love" you. However, after a while it seems very insincere and they are just trying to butter you up to get your money. We took a taxi from the port and he said it would be $10/person (There were 6 of us) to take us on a little site-seeing tour or Montego Bay. He took us around for about 15 minutes and up to this beautiful lookout hotel that used to be a slavemaster's home. He then said, "Hey mon, this is much more tour than I can give for $10/person...I have to charge you $20/person." I guess I could have fought with him about it, but you never know what is going to happen in these foreign countries. We were miles away from the port now and would have had to find another taxi to take us back with no guaruntee it would have been any cheaper. So, I reluctantly paid the extra cost, but didn't tip him...btw, the taxi driver's name is Leroy Brown.
