One of the most "welcoming" ports I've encountered. There is a Jamaican band greeting guests exiting the ship and the view from the port is breathtaking. People are extremely friendly.😏😜

I heard a lot of negative things about Jamaica from anyone who had ever been before. "It's beautiful, BUT..." So I was very cautious and aware of our surroundings. We did the Martha Brae bamboo raft tour. It was absolutely beautiful. It took my breath away. We saw some pushy salespeople who waded out into the river to try to sell us trinkets, but it wasn't anything too intrusive. I never felt uncomfortable. Our raft captain Clive was very informative and showed us things in nature that I had never seen before. Afterwards they dropped us off for a very quick stop at a shopping area, and we bought a Red Stripe and a meat pie that was knock-your-socks-off good. Back at the port we did some shopping, which was very relaxed and felt safe. I hated to leave. I'd like to come back here and spend a week.

We did the hop on hop off which I think gets bad reviews for lack of knowledge, and hello it's so cheap. You don't have to get off at every stop. When we hit the first stop, everyone got off, but the 4 of us stayed on and and asked our driver Troy to take us to Doctors Cave. It really is that simple. Troy btw was totally awesome, pointing out things about Jamaica and landmarks on the way... Doctors cave: You'll want to Rent a chair and an umbrella, although there are shaded areas back by the building. I think we paid $24 for two chairs, one umbrella. Yes people approach with the smoke, and trinkets and such, but they are nice people. If you are into "that", you can smoke freely on the concrete pier for $5 to the security guard. We enjoyed the day and respected the culture. Beers were pricey, but can't go wrong with Red Stripe, amiright? Ended up at Margaritaville, where the wait time was long for a few drinks and an appetizer, but we planned accordingly because it's a hot spot and made it to the ship long before sail time. If you are a laid back person who just loves a beautiful beach, Jamaica is amazing. If everything offends you, probably not your spot. To top it off, Montego Bay had the most amazing sunset I've ever seen. Wouldn't take my kids, but I would definitely take myself again!

???Hard Rock??? Wife, child (18), friend (18), other friend (18), and I ditched the old folks and walked from port to wherever...we were NOT ready to leave Jamaica...hot, sweaty, dying of thirst, for forgetting to look the 'other way' for traffic, we found Hard Rock...way under dressed, nobody stopped us, straight to the bar...no questions asked for 18 y.o....lol...filled out post cards for unlucky people back home, then hit the beach for a look see...WOW!, love Margarittaville, but next time in Montego Bay, this is our destination...walking distance (no $$$ cabs), clean peaceful beach, clean shallow pool, way cool seating areas and open areas...regular eating areas, fancy dining table areas...this place has it all...cannot wait to go back...few years to go, but we will be there...

We loved Jamaica! We booked with shoreexcursioneer ahead and went to Sunscape Splash Resort, I can't express enough how beautiful it is there. All inclusive with 3 restaurants and pools, one with lazy river. Very nice, I would go again.

I was a little concerned about this port because of the reviews I’ve read. We had a wonderful time in Montego Bay. We booked an excursion, had a tour guide that took us all around Jamaica. Went to the hip strip, Rolls Hall, the beach, shopping, stopped off and had fresh coconut water and sugar cane. Went to Jerky’s and had the best jerk chicken that I’ve ever tasted. It was truly amazing. Please don’t believe the bad reviews. Although Jamaica may not be for everyone, you must experience Montego Bay for yourself to understand their culture

Jamaica was soooo much fun! Our Taxi driver was phenomenal! Not only did he charge us only $10 to drive into town, he came back and picked us up at the time we agreed on!!!! We shopped at local stores and finished at Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville. This Margaritaville was so much fun. It included an onsite water park that utilized the ocean. To get to the inflatables you had to slide down a yellow slide. We spent quite a bit here and utilized this as our excursion. The only thing it cost us was the price of food! (And margaritas of course!)

I have been to Jamaica, and yeah I plan on going back, everything is what you make of it. Wife and I really liked it, we went to Dr Coves beach which is a resort beach, for $7 we got a cab ride there, we could see the ship from the beach, it was nice we hit the water, and chilled on the beach met some people, did a little shopping, and got a cab back to ship for $5, the only thing everyone wants to sell you everything it can get annoying, we would mostly laugh, say no or we will be back, but it's their lively hood and you can haggle with them, my wife got some deals in gift shop and we got a cheaper cab. Looking forward to going back.

And I have been back to Montego Bay and when in Port got a Driver/Van with friends we told him we wanted to go to a nice beach , get authentic jerk chicken, have Rum punch, do some shopping & make it back to the boat way before time no BS!!! It cost about $25 pp we had a great day, great food, and we were safe!
