About Majahual, Mexico

Turquiose waters and white sand make Majahual an ideal destination for divers, snorkelers, and swimmers. Located on the Caribbean coast, Majahual, in addition to being a resort destination, is also a launching point to numerous castles, temples, Mayan ruins, and archaeolocical digs.

The shoping was pretty good for souvenirs and such things. It was a pretty isolated strip mall type of place. One of the restaurants (they had something like a lobster for a mascot) had really good nachos.

We just went into the port area, shopped, ate lunch returned to the ship. It was a fun time. We enjoyed the day. We have never scheduled an excursion here, we just enjoy the simple shopping and dining at this port.

We had booked the 2 person speed boat to a snorkel location, but we learned that this was cancelled when we walked off the pier. This location was built for cruise ships and there is a nice shopping area with restaurants, bars, two pools and several chairs along the rocky coast. Despite our tour cancellation, we loved just relaxing in this area.

No need to make a stop here...dirt roads and poor people. Cruise line outpost for tours.
