We went on the Passion Island excursion. It says you travel by catamaran and it's really just a ferry. No drinks on the boat. The island has all you can eat and drink and plenty of seating with shade. There are hammocks in the water and it's very calm seas. Worth it.

Water is beautiful here. We have been here several times and we always do something different. The Tulum Mayan Ruins is a great way to see ruins. We have done horseback riding which was great and very affordable. Several snorkel trips and scuba (great way to try scuba)

Great port. Locals are nice. Dolphin swim was great. Good food and drinks everywhere. Shopping was great but when you get off the boat you have to walk through 200 yards of what is essentially a shopping mall. It was very crowded upon getting off the boat and it just seemed like such a cheap way to sell us stuff. Only bad part of the port.
