Review summary

Excellent cruise and vacation. Everything on the boat was perfect, especially the staff. Cruise director Matt was funny and friendly and also humble and approachable. The ports had a few flaws but the good outweighed the bad by an exponential amount. Overall this was a perfect vacation and honeymoon. When we sail again it will undoubtedly be with carnival. Excellent experience

Embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Buffet was not the best but it's buffet food so that is to be expected. Plenty of it everywhere. Overall it was exactly what we expected and we were very satisfied. The burgers and pizza were very good

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Much to do and the activities varied greatly so there is something to do for everyone.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The nightly shows were great. The entertainers put on a wonderful show every night.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Didn't find a single staff member that was not friendly and courteous. Everyone did their best to ensure that we enjoyed our vacation and they succeeded. I am very impressed with the way that the staff aboard the Dream treat guests. The wonderful staff was by far the best part of the the on board experience. Room steward and dining room staff were especially great.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Adequate. I can't think of way that the layout could be better. Every restaurant, bar, etc.'s location seemed fitting.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Excellent. Not a big room but none of them are except for the suites. It was the perfect amount of space, as all we used the room for was shower and sleep. Aft balcony was very nice. The room was cleaned to perfection everyday. We saw our room steward almost daily and he always greeted us with a smile and kind words. The cleanliness and the cleaning staff could not have been any better.

Ship tip

If you're interested in the aft balcony be prepared to walk when moving about the ship. A lot of the entertainment is mid and front of the ship. It was fine for us but there is more walking when staying in an aft cabin

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana

5 out of 5
It's new Orleans. It's always great

Montego Bay, Jamaica

Beautiful water and decent shopping. We took a catamaran and snorkled. It was great. We then went to the doctors cave beach club and it was fine but there were many people inside trying to sell cheap bracelets and asking for money. The island is beautiful but the locals made the experience just a little too much.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
Beautiful island. The locals were great. We swam with stingrays through captain Marvin's and they were very accommodating and overall great. Shopping was very nice at this port. Our favorite port by far.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
Great port. Locals are nice. Dolphin swim was great. Good food and drinks everywhere. Shopping was great but when you get off the boat you have to walk through 200 yards of what is essentially a shopping mall. It was very crowded upon getting off the boat and it just seemed like such a cheap way to sell us stuff. Only bad part of the port.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very quick and orderly

Good to hear there is a new cruise director. The one in December was extremely annoying.
