Cozumel is one of my favorite ports to visit! One of the best things about it is that you don't have to book an excursion to have fun and see & enjoy the beauty of the island. However if you do decide to book an excursion, they have some really great options. The ppl are so nice and welcoming! If you want authentic Mexican food, there is an abundance of restaurant options within walking distance or a short taxi ride away from the pier. Palmeras, La Mission and Mary Juanas (more casual) are my personal favs. Shopping is plentiful! Whether you are looking for clothes, trinkets, souvenirs or liquor. This is my favorite port to shop at. Just a note, if you see a particular item you are interested in buying, check the surrounding stores because Cozumel is one of those places where that item may he one price at one store and $10 cheaper at the spot next door! Plenty of beach options but some are rocky and not as nice so do your research! We booked beach day passes to Playa Mia. The beach was nice but hit a few rocks swimming out to the aqua park. They advertise a swim up bar, but it's not operational and not a real bar, only a small step-down section that's an extension of the main bar. You have to get out of the pool and walk to the bar to get your drinks. I also notice they treat you differently depending on what color armband you have on. I purchased a $30/pp all day beach pass but because I didnt have the all-inclusive beach pass, we were disregarded and treated like we didn't exist. They had waiters, bartenders, etc walking around but they only serviced and checked on the guests with all-inclusive are bands. Guests without had to get up, walk around, find and get everything on their own. I didnt appreciate that esp since I am willing to pay and tip like everyone else. I won't return to Playa Mia but I definitely love and will return to Cozumel!

Today has been the best day yet. While we arrived to port late due to a medical emergency drop off we had on our way from Nassau we were still off the ship by 9:30 and went to Mr. Sancho’s for the day. I highly recommend this for a day excursion. We had a table facing the beach with an umbrella and two loungers. We got the all inclusive package, so free booze, soda, bottle water, and food. The pool area was nice and they had bed cabanas too. The guacamole was delicious with very good chips. I got the beef tacos and they were delicious! It was a beautiful day at the beach. Sunny with a nice breeze and the water is crystal clear. I must add that the bathrooms were very clean. I will definitely be going back the next time I’m in Cozumel. I’m struggling to say anything positive about the Windjammer. Yesterday (day at sea) was a disaster, food wise. Breakfast there is always a mess. No made to order stations and the food is either luke warm or cold. For lunch we did Sabor - not worth the $15. Only 3 or 4 items to choose from and I’ve had better at Taco Bell for less. Very disappointed with them. Saw Mama Mia last night and I was pleasantly surprised. The cast did a fine job and it was entertaining. I’m not one for onboard shows but this is worth going to see. Tonight we have reservations for Chops. I am hopeful that their food is at least above grade. :-) I will say that the Park Cafe is really good. I love their made to order salads and sandwiches. Tonight we plan to hang out at the Schooner Bar. Last night was the Champagne lounge and it was very nice and the drinks were strong! Still enjoying the vacation and the cruise!
