We had an overnight stay in cozumel due to bad weather cancelling keywest. Due to this we booked the excursion to chichen itza, it is a long day of travelling but really is worth it to see the ruins. We took a taxi downtown on the second day and browsed around the shops

The Best! Lot of shopping within the port, as well as, food and drink. However, Cozumel has so much to offer. Our 4th trip here and finally made it to Passion Beach. We did not want to leave!

Love this port!! Locals always welcoming. Port location is close to shopping and food. Just a cab ride away from awesomeness beach. Can’t wait to go back!!

In Cozumel we toured some Mayan ruins which were very interesting. Our guide was so knowledgeable and made the ancient ways come to life for us. The ruins are just incredible. Since we still had about half the day left, we took a taxi to a nearby beach. It was only a 10-minute drive. We arranged for the taxi to come back 1 hour before time to be back on the ship. We did not know the traffic would be backed up and I was so scared that we would not make it in time. If you are on an excursion that you booked through Carnival, and you get back late they will wait for you. But if you go out on your own they will not so I was really scared. I considered getting out of the taxi and running. But we made it back in time and even with an extra few minutes so I could shop. Although all the excursions were lots of fun and everyone associated with them was so kind, so helpful, so reassuring, so nice and attentive to every single one of our needs, the poverty in these countries is heartbreaking. I just wanted to get off the bus and help these people. I have heard that tourism is the major source of their income but I just hope that some of it trickles down to the poorest of these people.

Went to Playa Mia. Booked direct with them for the cheapest rate ($110.00, no food or drinks). Caught a taxi for $20 (including tip) each way. This is for 2 adults and 2 kids. Would do this again.

We went to Playa Mia and got the deluxe beach break. It came with a bunch of free stuff but al we did was eat and chill at the beach. We also tried out the Fish Therapy.

Cozumel is a great location. We rented a jeep with a driver through cozumelcruiseexcursions.net This was outstanding. Our guide was awesome!! You can choose to go wherever you want. We went to the hand made tequila plant (a bit of a tourist trap but if you like tequila its a must), Eco Park and then drove up the coast making a few stops including lunch which was part of the overall price ($70/person) for about 4.5 hours. The lunch was excellent right on the waterfront. Jeep was in great condition with AC. RC also has a large shopping port right at the pier which has local and upscale shops and merchandise. You definitely can bargain with the merchants!
