We did self tours only, people are friendly but you need to get away from the port to really enjoy it. I would recommend taking excursions to get a better feel for the area.

Day at the beach and it was perfect!!!! My best excursion!!!! Was a little concerned about armed guards at beach but we were fine.

Jolly Rodger catamaran was my favorite excursion. I had a really great time and the rum punch is lethal!

Did the jungle top Zipline within walking distance of the port. We did not pre-book we just walked there directly and paid. Took a cab from David of Three Brothers Taxi service to the Daniel Johnson's monkey and sloth hang out and then the little French key. He was a great driver you can request him

Stay in a group and with a professional tour guide because of safety issues.

Ziplines and had a personal driver. Ate iguana at a restaurant that was super close to boat and amazing.
