Review summary

This is the second time in seven months we've cruised on the liberty. We're going again in August and December of this year on the same ship. Highly recommend

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Parked, walked to the cruise terminal, got through security and check in within 10 minutes. Only had to wait about 45-60 mins before before we boarded the ship

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Adrian at the pool bar was amazing. Please be sure to say hi. He'll take care of you. Heavy on the pour. Makes excellent pina coladas and crown mixes. we actually had three separate waiters in our main dining room dinnera over the week. The first two nights we had different waiters on different decks (4 and 5) for My Time Dining between 6-7:30p . Very disappointed with the wait staff the first two nights. We spoke with the maître d' and he set us up with a excellent waiter on deck 3 (Erwin), and we stayed with him the remainder of the cruise. Got our likes and dislikes down, our requests for drinks, and staying on top of that without us having to do anything. Great experience once we got to him.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Spent a lot of time at the pools, arcade, a little bit in the casino, bingo twice a day , cardroom, in the specialty shows. We did not do the ice show or Saturday Night Fever, but we did the comedy show as well as the weird Arial show

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The two comedians from LA were great. The aerial show was like Cirque du Soleil... Kinda odd, but I liked it

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Kids loved the arcade and the pools as usual. Ice cream machine on the pool deck is always a hit

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Erwin on deck three in the main dining room is amazing. Adrian at the pool bar was spectacular. Our room steward Joao was good

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
For the most part the ship was clean. With all the people running through you're prone to have germs. Just be sure you sanitize like crazy. Bring your own and use every dispenser you pass by

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had a balcony on the starboard side of the ship forward. Except for the first few nights on trying to out run the cold front blowing us from the side, we didn't feel anything moving. Adequate space. One thing that irritated me was when I asked for coffee and a banana to be delivered for room service at 6:30 to 7 every morning, our first day in Port they delivered at 5:30 and woke us up.

Ship tip

Whether it's your first time on the ship or repeat, get there early and walk every deck to get familiar with the ship. Get your Cruise Compass spring highlighter to highlight the activities you want to do and keep it with you. Or take a picture of it on your phone she'll always have it. Don't try to fit everything into your cruise, it's pretty much impossible. Cruise on Liberty often and you can do things differently each time. You're unhappy about a particular waitstaff, tell the maître d' and have them move you for the next experience until you find the right one. Oh, and disembark on your own it's worth it and you get off within 30 minutes and clear customs without a weight typically. took us from 815-830 to start walking from the assigned area to clear customs and we were on the road for a 4 Hour drive home

Embarkation and disembarkation. We were missing one piece of luggage it was sent to our room about 6 PM. Found out it was inspected by customers for some reason, probably because all her toiletries and liquids were in it. The couple we traveled with four doors down also had one of their inspected as well.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Did the jungle top Zipline within walking distance of the port. We did not pre-book we just walked there directly and paid. Took a cab from David of Three Brothers Taxi service to the Daniel Johnson's monkey and sloth hang out and then the little French key. He was a great driver you can request him

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
We did the Mayan lost Kingdom waterpark as well as the zip lines there. Kids loved it as did the two parents. One thing that bothered me was I prepaid that waterpark in January but when we were there in March to get transportation they build this again outside where the transportation was. I've been dealing with the waterpark to get that duplicate charge refunded and so far they're working on it

Cozumel, Mexico

We went to Chankanaab to sit on the beach and attempt to snorkel. Nice place, but get there early so you don't have to deal with the crowds after finding seating

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Did the self disembark and took us 15 minutes from when we started to move in our assigned meeting area through customs. Wouldn't do it any other way

Thanks for the review! We also enjoyed our cruise on Liberty. Sounds like you did a great job of taking care of yourself with the waitstaff situation - a good role model for others who may find themselves in a similar bind.

I travelled on her once and loved it. But after trying Allure, she has become my favorite, until I go on Harmony next year :)

Looks like we did the same cruise March 11th. We drove in from Houston and arrived at 10:20. Parking at that time was a nightmare. The lines to get on the ship were huge - glad I traveled with a Diamond Plus and didn’t have to wait. What time did you arrive?
