If you want a relaxing day, you must prebook an excursion. Wife and I found one in Trip Advisor, National Beach Club. Was AMAZING! $110 got us cab fare to and from, 20 minute massage, chairs on the water, and a wait staff that was very pleasant and never had to seek out. There were two local ladies standing by to cook whatever you wanted from the kitchen and everything was all inclusive. They limit the amount of people at this beach club and it was so peaceful! Would definitely do it again. Well worth the money.

Did an excursion to the Mayan ruins at Chacchoben. We went with a private tour company (I believe it was Toucan... my SIL booked for us). Tour was informative, some of the family got off the bus at the beach afterwards to hang out for a bit and eat. It was a very enjoyable day!

this port was the best one I had on this voyage. Free pool with no escursion, they put on free shows, nice shops.

Chacchoben Mayan Ruins were amazing to see and even enjoyed the ride to get there. Seeing the areas where others live is always something I like to see and hear about.

This port is a 5 if you're happy with a day just chilling on the beach. Other than beach chilling, there's prety much nothing to do. I highly recommend buying a day pass ahead of time at Jaime's at the blue Reef. $47 per person gets you a spot in the shade on the beach, beach chairs, a table, and unlimited drinks/booze and food as long as you're there.

We booked an all-inclusive beach resort (YaYa Beach) prior to boarding the ship. It was a good decision. Very relaxing. Had our own waiter all day (Sergio), and he brought us food and drink all day. The beach bed was comfy. The view was beautiful. It was a perfect day!

Went to Maya Chan beach resort (not a ship excursion) and loved it. Bumpy ride but got to see the real Costa Maya along the way, not the fake port.

Wear your swimsuit! There is a wonderful pool and beach area ... no need for an Excursion!

Make sure you get a massage on the beach ... only paid $20 for a 45 minute full body massage. Wonderful!
