Wasn't sure what to expect at this port but it was great. The port itself was not so great as it was the "industrial" port but we did book an excursion to Hibiscus Falls and then to a local beach. It was quite a drive but the falls were beautiful. You do have to walk down several steep steps to get to the falls but it is amazing! The beach we went to was nice--a black sand beach--but shade is limited and if your group arrives later in the day, then you are out of luck finding shade.

Wonderful Jewels of Dominica tour, my favorite thus far. Was a long tour but a great experience to snorkel champagne reef and a refreshing swim in titou gorge. Really great tour guides.

Dominica is the Hawaii and Bali of the Caribbean. It is less developed and naturally forested beautiful. The only issue is there was ongoing repair being done on roads / buildings after the August hurricane damage.

We booked an island tour on shore and the guide was wonderful. We enjoyed Totou Gorge and the swim through the cave to see the waterfalls. The mountains and native flowers were breathtaking!

Took a taxi tour to waterfall and visited an old fort. Got rained on in the rain forest but that is to be expected. It was better than I had read on here.

Went to the botanical gardens and walked up to the rainforest. Amazing wildlife, very poor city. Saw a parrot sanctuary. Outdoor market at port with lots to buy.

You MUST have an excursion if you want to see anything here. There are not any vendors in the port and there is not a beach nearby. Very poor country. The tour guide was very friendly. You would have to walk a long way into town and there was not really anything there. I think this country is new to cruises and they don’t have the infrastructure yet that the other ports have.

Did princess excursion to river tubing! Sooo fun!!! Glad we had log sleeve rash guard swim tops! The sun was sooo bright and we had to paddle a bit - our long sleeve shirts saved our arms from rubbing on the tubes
