Phillipsburg is mostly open for business again. Last year when we visited in January there were 7 cruise ships in port. Grandeur was the smallest. This year we were the only ship, and Phillipsburg was relatively quiet. The French side had more damage and is rebuilding more slowly than on the Dutch side, but is still well worth visiting. Orient Beach has been cleared of debris, and was largely empty.

We didn't do an excursion since we had been to this island before, however we went downtown which we hadn't done previously and found really good deals on souvenirs.

We took a cab to Maho Beach to see the planes land and it was a very unique experience. Te bar there evidently had been rebuilt so it was a nice clean place with good (but expensive) food. Traffic getting back to the ship was no fun.
