Did an excursion on the Golden Eagle catamaran. What a great time! They are great and will go again when next in St. Maarten.

We did the Rhino rider excursion - it was a lot of fun and a great way to see the shorelines - amazing to see how many abandoned boats in the harbour still from hurricane Irma (eerie and fascinating)

We shopped the many shops right off the pier. No excursions.

St. Maarteen is one of my favorite islands however we were a little dissapointed the with our excursion. We went to airport ( 3rd day on the cruise - Wednesday) to watch the airplanes land and take off. I was looking so forward to experience the blast from the jets but what they don't tell you is that the airport isn't really busy on Wednesdays. Saturday is their busiest day. We saw several small planes land and take off and only 1 JetBlue land. We did not get to see any big planes take off :(

Do the Family Adventure Race! (like the American show The Amazing Race) Learned so much about the island that you would never learn without doing this. We booked directly through the company and had no issues with meeting up with them, getting there or paying them. Maho Beach is great to watch the planes, but don't plan on relaxing at the beach in the afternoon - noisy and so many people there to watch the planes. If you don't want to be so close to the action take a seat and grab a bite to eat at Sunset Bar. Also - take the bus (just look for the signs in the front - and it may just be a big van)! It's only $2 and it's as fast as taking a taxi.

Much like every other island: Take a low-cost taxi instead for a shore excursion. The cruises have all but taken away their living. Get out of Philpsburg!

liked this port a lot. Caught a water taxi and went to a beach that was a 10 minute ride from the port. Two chairs and umbrella was $20. Water taxi was $7 pp.

Had a great driver and tour guide!! Very nice beach and restaurant included. Good deal. Only problem was Gregory the manager was very rude. Driver knew him and said he was a good guy but had problem with dealing with a lot..had us fill out form and Carnival moved him to different job..not fired (glad)..just moved. He was really rude. Gave my beach chair away to another customer. Screamed at my husband...not good. Carnival took care of it in a good way. Did not want him to lose his job..just be nicer. Lots of really poor people, and rich people living next to each other...common people seemed stressed and some angry. Would not want to stay here.
