This is a great ports of call cruise of some of the southern Caribbean islands. The ship is small and an older vessel. But with that being said, Carnival has priced this cruise accordingly. We feel that this cruise is definitely were the price!
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Getting on the ship was quick and organized
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The main dining room food had a good variety and was very tasteful and we absolutely loved our wait staff. However the buffet was not as tasty and the staff was at times rude when attention was needed to refill empty food trays. Guy's burgers were great as were the BlueIguana Cantina. The pizza was slightly below average.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The swimming pool is very small and at times very crowded.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The shows were very good and entertaining. There was a good variety each night. The comedians were funny and kept us laughing each time we saw their show.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
The main dining room wait staff was excellent as were our room stewards. We found some of the other personnel not so attentive and this varied throughout the ship.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship is old and it shows. The ship is clean though and we had no issues with any areas.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Our cabin was very adequate. We enjoyed the size of our bathroom compared to other ships we had been on. The beds are very comfortable! The cabin could use a few more electrical outlets though as we only found one at the desk we could use to charge all of our devices.
Ship tip
Don't expect too much in modern amenities as this is one of the oldest ships in Carnivals fleet. The ports of call is what makes this cruise outstanding.
Still recovering from hurricane damage done two years ago. The progress to recovery is very very slow. Damage is seen throughout the city. The language barrier was the hardest thing for us to get through as it is a Spanish speaking island.
Our favorite island by far!! We went on the 4x4 safari excursion and had an absolutely great time. We tour the island and ended with a 3 hour stop at the Copacabana beach resort. The beach sand was very soft and water was very clean. We definitely recommend this excursion and beach.
