Review summary

Plenty of activities and shows on the ship for the family to do. The shows were top notch entertainment! Staterooms were very nice. We were in 10721 and it had a wonderful view out the back of the ship, we could see the diving show and watch people go by on the boardwalk. It was nice that the shower had doors not a curtain! Bed was surprisingly comfortable - our Room Steward Clover made sure we had everything we needed and always greeted us with an amazing smile!! The food was average. Breakfast and lunch were hit or miss and inconsistent (I eat scrambled eggs almost daily and they seemed to taste different every day). Dinner was always excellent and the menu very creative yet also offered classic "safe" food options. Late night food was limited and the room service menu was almost laughable on the lack of options. Last but not least you would never know you are on a ship with 6,000+ other people - except of course when you try to use the elevator after dinner or a show :)

Book a cabin toward the back of the ship that overlooks the boardwalk. You get an ocean view out the back of the ship without having to pay oceanview prices! Added plus is you get to see the diving show from your balcony!

Ship tip

Take advantage of both dining options - use your selected seating time for days at sea and MyTime dining for days in port. That way you don't have to worry about rushing back to make your dinner time. Menus are the same and the staff are great in all the dining rooms!

Get a rental car and travel to Orlando to see The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

Not the cleanest of ports but still worth the stop to plop down on the beach and have some drinks and a splash.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Check out Frenchtown Brewing in Frenchtown. And relax on the beach at Meghns Bay. Pie Whole is a good stop - but be prepared for a long stay (service isn't fast). Top of the Mountain offers great views, but it a glorified souvenir shop.

Do the Family Adventure Race! (like the American show The Amazing Race) Learned so much about the island that you would never learn without doing this. We booked directly through the company and had no issues with meeting up with them, getting there or paying them. Maho Beach is great to watch the planes, but don't plan on relaxing at the beach in the afternoon - noisy and so many people there to watch the planes. If you don't want to be so close to the action take a seat and grab a bite to eat at Sunset Bar. Also - take the bus (just look for the signs in the front - and it may just be a big van)! It's only $2 and it's as fast as taking a taxi.
