We did the North Island Tour excursion and it was very informative. The jungle is incredible and learning about the volcano of 1902 was interesting.

Maybe we just didn't plan properly for this island, but the vendors at the port stands were not overly welcoming. We didn't make plans, so next time, we will probably take a tour of the island. We ended up back on the ship 20 min. later. I suggest an excursion.

If you dont know French better have a dictionaey and use Euros. No matter what others say. We took a driving tour to the church and St Pierre. Very good guide and interesting island. The not speaking French trouble came when we walked around on our own after the tour.

Martinique is very similar to the back streets of Paris, tight streets with small pavements and busy traffic males it a bit tricky to get about, the promenade is quite stunning and reports from friends liked the island outside of the main town, our problem was the locals, like the french are very arrogant and ignorant.

In Martinique we also just walked around town. It was kinda tricky here because most speak French. LOL At the end of the pier was dancers and tent stores. I bought a few things there. People were saying the locals were rude but we had no problems.

We took a Princess excursion to the Botanical gardens. It was just beautiful! We wandered around and took gorgeous photos, went across the swinging bridge, which was very fun.
