By far my favorite port of call. Clean, well organized, calm. My trip to Nevis was very enjoyable, especially the visit to Alexander Hamilton's birthplace. How special! The rumor in Nevis is that Prince Harry and his bride Meagan will spend part of their honeymoon there. I can understand why they would choose it.

We did an excursion on a catamaran to snorkel. The sail on the catamaran was fun and we had a great time snorkeling. The crew of the catamaran was a lot of fun and we saw the beautiful coastline. Spent the afternoon at cockleshell beach and went to the beach bar there for lunch. Water was beautiful and we were able to rent chairs/umbrella and hang out. Look for Timothy (?) Hill - the spot where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Caribbean Sea - it's visible from an overlook area that we stopped at on our way back from the beach. Very cool view!!

No excursion today. Hired a taxi to take us to Cockleshell beach for the day. AMAZING place!!! Beautiful beach and staff at the beach never bothered us once!!! St. Kitts is on our radar to come back again and stay for a week or so to get to know this place better....and Nevis.

Didn't really have a plan for this port so walked over to bus station, then caught a bus with two British blokes who were going to hike up to the Brimstone Hill Fortress, which they said had a great view. Cost was $3.75 EC, (which is ~ $1.50 US) On the bus they mentioned it was a "strenuous" climb. Turned out the citadel was 800m up, and it was a 1/2 mile walk as the pathway zig-zagged up the mtn. After a 45 minute climb I found out that it was $10 US which I declined but stopped at the top gate and took a few quick snaps before walking back down for a beer at the gas station. Caught another bus back downtown, then went to a supermarket and bought a small bottle of "hard wine" (20% alc by vol) and included Siberian ginseng and "horny goat weed" Sat at a traffic circle and bus waiting area near the cruise terminal and sipped wine for before heading back on board for wings and a Caesar salad at O'Sheehan's pub.

This was the best stop of the entire trip. We took a tour into the mountains via an open air truck. We got some great photos and drank rum punch all day. The monkeys seemed to be everywhere.
